ABOUT ME

Hi friends!!

Welcome to my website and thanks for stopping by!! This has been a long time dream in the making! (Not just the website - but everything that it entails.) And hopefully it will continue to expand as we add to it!

I'm a small town Kansas girl who grew up in a musical family - traveling all over the country, singing with my dad, sister and brother. In fact, the running joke was that we were the "Von-Coopers" (As in the Sound of Music's the "Von-Trapp" family) It was a great way to grow up! I also sang on our local church's worship team growing up as well. That is when worship began it's deep influence in my heart.
I graduated high school and attended Bible college in Tulsa, OK. There I learned more about ministry, missions and music together and it completely changed my life.
After college, I found my way to Nashville, TN in an old blue blazer that carried all I owned in it! It was there that I really started to discover God's heart for music in my life.  It was definitely a journey (and continues to still be one) that I was on.

Over the next several years, I found myself in various avenues of music from session work to ministering in the children's and youth departments of my church, going on several missions trips, filling in as worship leader on occasion, as well as touring with friend and co-founder of Love in a Big World, a character organization doing school assemblies. A move back to Kansas after getting married in 2002 took me in new directions with music, continuing the work of Love in a Big World in the Midwest, but also learning to adapt my knowledge and skills in other areas. It was during this time that I picked up the guitar again and began teaching myself to play.
Several years ago, my husband, three children and I adopted full time military life. I have served on the board as worship leader for the local women's ministry on the military post (PWOC - Protestant Women of the Chapel) off and on for many years while continuing to serve in the local church with worship and other areas of ministry wherever we live.

Several years ago, a good friend/producer and I spent many months writing, collaborating and putting together songs that stem from real life experiences to bring people hope and encouragement and just something fun to brighten their day! A CD emerged from our efforts. “Rhythms of Grace” was released in September 2012 with a variety of musical styles mixed in.
The military brought us to Germany for a season which has opened up even more amazing ministry opportunities. God has been good and faithful!

And that's me in a nutshell! I will continue to pursue any musical avenue that God leads me to and I am most definitely enjoying the ride!
